Congratulation

Yeah Baby! Congratulations to General Motors! Yes they Did! They paid off the government loan early, five years early to be exact. With interest.
To all the Republicans out there who just wanted GM to go away,I say screw you.
To all the GM employees, I want you to remember who saved you,and hope you vote accordingly.
Let's hope Chrysler is not to far behind.

Don't pull your party hats out just yet. I hear the U.S. government still holds something like 60 billion in the company's stock.

I was thinking about that and wondering now that their turning a profit do we benefit from that?
As stock goes how much profit from the shares are to be made.

What the government should do is sell the shares, profit from the sale, and get out of the car business.
I'm not holding my breath.

Joaquin
I'm with you!
I'm surprised that it was paid off so soon and with interest. We made money, can you imagine! The shares then went for next to nothing so you know were going to make it good.

Actually I didnt know what side (as far as left or right)was for the bailout of GM or who wasnt, at the time ... understand that I never have based any of the thought's or reason on any political party, or anything like that. But I was ALL for the bailout of GM when it went down, but strongly opposed to the big bank bailout's. I am a simple man .... looking at GM because of the auto indutry in America and the job's it creates in places like Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, etc. And they werent too big to fail type place's .... I knew that GM China was breaking record sale's though at the time, and wanted them to lend a helping hand mostly, which they had no concern with. That's how corporation's work .... such as General Electric for instance .... you may wonder for instance as Michael Moore pointed out in a video, why do French worker's of America's GE get far more benefit's, pay and vacation, etc., than American GM worker's? It's because the French have a more "social" type government and dont let corporation's screw the people like America does, is why. But indeed .... I was just watching a couple video's via CNN on American automaker's .... and they are doing alot better. I've drove probably half and half as far as car's are concerned(Asian or Ameican that is), right now I'm driving a Honda sport coup, but before that I was driving a Nissan Pathfinder SUV 4X4 with overdrive transmission ... quite a difference! :) I also had a couple Pontiac's, which I love on performance, alway's been a Pontiac fan .... I owned a couple Isuzu's as well .... they had great car's at a time .... but stopped making car's around 1993, only SUV's and truck's ..... originally Isuzu were known for their large truck/ commercial transport vehicle's especially oversea's for year's before they had success in the state's. As far as luxury vehicle's ... I love the Cadillac STS's with the large 32 valve engine's. .... even rented a couple to take out of town here and there. Smaller car's make good for me on mileage these day's as far as petro price's .... that Nissan SUV was draining me here in the city .... Dallas area is huge like LA, and I drive like 90 mph alot .... so it eat's a Hell of alot of gas! I better shut up, cause I cant stop when it come's to car's. :) But congrat's to GM!

One more little piece .... that Chrysler 300 .... goddamn what a classy looking luxury vehicle that is, heh? .... Oh yeah .... them new Dodge Charger's .... wooooo ... those are kick ass! Okay, I'll shut the fuck up.

Later Guy .........

As a Kid growing up it was said at the time "How GM goes so goes the Country". You are correct in overseas operations of U.S.company's. Even Walmart allows for union members in China but of course not here.
Republicans were dead set against the Auto Bailout. One reason is the hate unions.
Cars...I love to talk about Cars. One of my favorite Cars that I was lucky to own was a 1970 Jagure XKE
convertible. Red at that. I never got laid so much in my life as when I was driving that thing. One of my Son's want me to have a Caddy STS.
Maybe some day.
Later my friend

OMG! Imagine that! I never even heard that one until this, I need to check that out fer sure .... your sayin that Walmart allow's union's in Commi China but not here? Goddamn cheap MF's!! Aint that a goddamn shock to me! Um, um, um. Getting laid in that Jag .... even these day's you'll get laid if you have a Jag .... BTW ... their Ford owned these day's.

I remember when Cowboys Stadium(new) was looking for a name .... and I was just hoping they wouldnt name it after another bank or corporation like most new stadium's across America .... a buddy said .... he hope's they wont name it WalMart Stadium since they have a gazillion store's it seem's like across the metro area .... I told him ...."Dont worry dude ...WalMart is too cheap to bid on a goddamn stadium naming right's ...." :)

I couldn't get laid in a Jag now even with hundred dollar bills coming out my ears. But I do have my memories..
