Blumenthal apologizes for misstatements on Vietnam

HARTFORD, Conn. -- U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal has apologized in an e-mail for misstatements he made about his military service during the Vietnam War, nearly a week after the controversy erupted.
Blumenthal said in a statement e-mailed to The Hartford Courant late Sunday that he made mistakes and is sorry.
It's the first apology from Blumenthal. He had said he regretted his misstatements and took responsibility for them after The New York Times reported last week that he wrongly said more than once that he served in Vietnam.
He served stateside in the Marine Reserve during Vietnam. He says he unintentionally said he served "in" Vietnam when he meant "during" Vietnam.
Blumenthal, Connecticut's attorney general, received the Democratic nomination for the Senate race Friday.
I've not said to much about this asshole because he disgust me. In an effort to get votes at any cost the son of a bitch flat out lied. He kicked the collective balls of all the brave Men and Women who did serve. People say, but he is at every funeral he can be at of our service personnel. I'm sure even that's for votes. Chris Dodd fucked us again by hand picking this swine. I know there are people out there who tell lies so often that they begin to believe them. Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are prime examples.
In this case with Blumenthal, it sickens the very core of what we are supposed to be.
Not only do I wish the Dems. would come up with an honest candidate for the seat, but I wish this guy ill. He has practically assured that Linda McMahon will win the Senate seat. McMahon is of wrestling fame WWE owner and chief executive. A corrupt company that pushes drugs on their stars and covers it up. Refuse's to offer health care to it's employee's is in it's wrestlers. Claims the wrestlers are independent contractors. How they get away with that I don't know. In conclusion, fuck Blumenthal and anyone who supports him.

Aside from the lying, what is astounding is that this guy is the Attorney General. Basically, the head legal voice, outside of the courts, for the state.
They are to be held to a higher standard.

I kind of agree with you on a higher standard. Isn't that a shame we all aren't held to the same standards.
To me public office is a honor to have people put their trust in you.
Now I'm not saying we need a saint, I like the fact people are flawed. It means they led a life and hopefully learned something. This guy is beyond help and should just go away. Thanks for stopping by.

Blumenthal is a lying sack of sh&t, and all the euphemisms in the world won't cover that up. "I mis-spoke." "Mistakes were made." And my favorite, "a few misplaced words." WTF does that mean?
Blumenthal is right up (or down) there with Richard Nixon's spokesman during the Watergate hearings, when he announced "all previous statements on Watergate are inoperative."
Even though I havent wrote about this, I ceratinly followed it. As well as the deferment crap or whatever to avoid combat, basically what GW Bush done, as well .... and many other kid's from that era where their familia's had money. I actually tried to enlist during the Nam War in the Navy .... it was winding down but still active at the time. I failed my written, and was to come back in a few month's and retest, but was in Dade County Jail Miami by that time for interstate car theft.
But this Guy didnt "misword", he just like many politician's, worded it the way he wanted .... he knew exactly what the fuck he was saying.
