President Obama has fired the head of the Interior Department's Minerals Management Service, according to the Associated Press.
The news agency, citing unnamed sources, says Obama will announce later today that Elizabeth Birnbaum has been taken off the job. She's been head of the MMS since July 2009.
Her agency, which grants leases to oil companies and monitors offshore drilling, has come under criticism for lax oversight since the BP well explosion in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20.
Since that report it's been said she resigned. Resigned my Hairy White shriveled ass. She was fired and about time. See Mr.President, that's called leadership. You should try it more often. Next set your sights (aka Sarah Palin) on cowboy Ken Salazar. This prick fat bastard had a year and a half to straighten out MMS. It remained untouched until now.

One quick look at her resume and it's easy to see that she was in over her head.
Maybe fearless leader should choose more carefully and not just Chicago or Harvard cronies?
Obama still has a long way to go and Salazar is as guilty if not guiltier than most of those involved. He should be gone and Cheney and Bush should be shot for allowing this.
Obama knew the criminals Bush and Cheney changed the rules for their oil interests He should have immediately switched them back. All tests and oversight ended in 2011 what a coincidence.

I'm none to happy with the guy. Having said that, I think he has redeemable qualities. At least I hope.
I know he was handed a mess, but he should not Governed by consensus.
Geeez Jim you sound like me. I think both of us just want truth no matter what party affiliations. I felt James Carville summed it up pretty good.
Where was he.....
In his press conference this morning, Obama said he did not yet know whether she resigned or Salazar fired her, bedause he has not yet spoken to Salazar this morning. Salazar should have never appointed a BP VP to head MMS. I agree with Jim. Salazar should be canned.

He should have never been appointed.
He's a left over from the Bush administration.
