ISRAEL SHOWDOWN
Another Ship Bound for Gaza (from the beast)
Days after a deadly clash between Israeli soldiers and a ship challenging the country's blockade of Gaza, a fresh showdown is on the horizon. An Irish ship, which organizers say carries 550 tons of humanitarian aid, is expected to arrive by late Friday or early Saturday. Ireland has requested that Israel not interfere with the ship. The boat is named Rachel Corrie in honor of an American peace activist who was killed in Gaza in 2003. An Israeli official told CNN, "the Israeli government is offering to receive the ship's cargo, as it has offered other vessels if it docks at [Israel's] Ashdod port. The Israeli government will unload the cargo, screen it, and deliver it to Gaza." Ireland has warned Israel not to be aggressive.
Let's hope relief gets to the people that need it.

From what I understand, Israel is allowing aid to flow into Gaza, through Israel, as long as Israel gets to inspect the cargo.
With the track record of the Gaza area, this sounds very equitable.
Let's hear it for the Fighting Irish :)
Let's hope the Rachel Corrie (well named) gets through without incident and the supplies get delivered.
